A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a ten-digit alphanumeric code issued by the Indian Income Tax Department to individuals, companies and businesses. A PAN card serves as a proof of identity and is required for a variety of financial transactions including opening a bank account, filing income tax returns and making investments.

New PAN Card Application:

After submitting the application form and paying the fee, you will receive a 15 digit acknowledgment number. You can use this number to track the status of your application online. Once your application is processed and approved, your PAN card will be sent to your registered address.

PAN Card Correction:

If you need to make corrections in an existing PAN card, you can do so by submitting a correction application online or offline. To apply online you can visit NSDL or UTIITSL website and fill the correction form. The form will require you to provide personal information and details of the correction you wish to make.

After submitting the correction form and paying the fee, you will receive a 15 digit acknowledgment number. You can use this number to track the status of your correction application online. Once your application is processed and approved, your updated PAN card will be sent to your registered address.

Verify PAN Card Online:

You can verify the authenticity of the PAN card online using the PAN verification service of the Income Tax Department. To use this service, you need to visit the NSDL website and enter the PAN number that you want to verify. The website will then display the name and status of the PAN holder.
